Questions & Answers on Stone Sinks, Basins
Do natural stone sinks stain?
Posted by Visitor
Reply to this question
1ReplyYes! Because a natural stone sink will come into contact with water frequently, this may cause any iron deposits in the stone to oxidize and stain, which can also occur if any metal fixtures begin to rust near the marble as well.

Are stone basins hard to clean?
Posted by Visitor
Reply to this question
1ReplyNatural stone can be quite porous and therefore may be more difficult to clean, particularly as you shouldn't use harsh chemicals on the surface. Don't be put off buying a stone sink for this reason though. For light cleaning, use warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge to wipe the surface down.

1ReplyWe recommend that you regularly clean natural stone with a mild dish detergent or a non-toxic, water-based cleaner specifically formulated for stone. For natural stone sinks, tubs, or any other product that contacts water, wipe dry with a soft cloth after each use.

Reply to this question
1ReplyTake a spray bottle and mix in half water and half white vinegar. You can then spray your whole sink with this solution and gently scrub the surface, paying close attention to any problem areas. Once you're happy you've cleaned the whole sink, rinse all the vinegar away and dry it with a separate cloth.

1ReplyIf you want to create a more unique bathroom space, a square sink is definitely a risk that can pay off. But, if you are looking for a more traditional look, an oval sink might be best. To complete the appearance and aesthetic of your bathroom, pair your new basin with a natural stone surface.

1ReplyWe recommend that you wipe up spills immediately and do not allow surface deposits of water bi-products such as calcium, salt, lime or detergents to build up on your stone sink. However, we do recommend sealing your sink to protect it against staining and water absorption
