Mexican Cantera stone is difficult to cut into large slabs due to its texture, it can be found mostly in the form of floor and wall covering tiles. As the matter is, this stone, which is fragile, porous, and not suitable for polishing treathment, is mostly used in outdoor areas and is not recommended in places with heavy traffic.

Cantera rock is formed by volcanic ash and dust. The ash is washed into a silt bed and combined with the lava, dirt and stone on the ground already. This combination makes Cantera a porous and lightweight stone. This stone is typically used by many architects and landscapers.
