About Blue Graveyard Products, Services : The most obvious task required by cemetery maintenance is lawn care. Since most cemeteries have lawns, regular mowing and tree maintenance is essential. In addition to mowing, staff must also perform seasonal cleaning, watering, soil testing and fertilization, and pest control. Tombstone cleaning is also done simply as follows: A few gallons of water will suffice for a single tombstone. Also get some soft bristle brushes. No wire brushes and no brush attachments for drills. Wet the stone completely, apply the cleansing product, then brush the growth.

Do no harm – the first step in cleaning a gravestone. Use water only to clean stones. Remove loose, dry material with a soft-bristled brush. Wet the entire stone with water. Wash each face of the stone from the bottom up to avoid streaking. Change the water often.
