How to clean cast stone reliefs?

1ReplyClean the embossed surfaces with a few drops of neutral cleaner, stone soap or mild dishwashing liquid and warm water. For best results, use a clean cloth mop for floors and a soft cloth for other surfaces. Too much cleaner or soap can leave a film and cause streaks. Do not use products containing lemon, vinegar or other acids. After washing with soap solution, rinse the surface thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Change the rinse water frequently. Do not use scouring powders or creams; these products contain abrasives that can scratch the surface.

1ReplyFinished plaster objects present fewer problems as the finishes are often quite durable. In addition to the dry cleaning methods, these items can usually be cleaned with cotton swabs moistened with distilled water to which a little detergent has been added.
